In 1953, CCYM was born to help Partition refugees trying to rebuild their lives. The brainchild of Late Shri Hashu Advani, CCYM, a NGO in Chembur drew on a tradition of brotherhood, compassion and desire to serve community. This initiative was well accepted by people and quickly spread to other activities.Today more than 10 activities flourish under CCYM umbrella.
In early eighties, Hashuji conceptualized School for hearing handicapped children. No previous project could match RTT School for scope, ambition or elegance. It was a bold step and first of its kind in Mumbai. Through dedication and hard work in year 1985, RTT School for Hearing Impaired finally opened it gates.
Today, RTT School is a flourishing institution and a benchmark in Hearing Impaired education. Institute has touched and changed lives of hundreds of Special children in profound ways.
Subsequently we expanded to commence HASCE College to train Teachers in field of Disability Education. Anil Asrani Vocational Institute was born to help special children, neo-literate and school dropouts to acquire skills which could help earn livelihood.
While we have achieved a great deal, there is much more to do.
Today we have an opportunity to take another significant leap forward and expand our service to Special Children.
