Education, in today's times is slowly and gradually acquiring a new meaning. Today, it is not just limited to reading and memorizing text and passing exams with high percentage of marks, it is about acquiring skill, being able to be gainfully employed and becoming independent. The education system today, has to shoulder the responsibility of transforming the personality of a naive kid into a responsible citizen through his overall development. Keeping this, changed objective, of imparting education, in mind, Chembur Colony Yuvak Mandal has taken yet another initiative of starting ANIL ASRANI VOCATIONAL COLLEGE from the academic year 2016-17. The approval of the Maharashtra State Board for starting HSC Vocational College for three courses has already been received and all preparations have been done to start the following courses from the academic year 2016-17-
1. Computer Technology
2. Medical Laboratory technician
3. Accounting & Financial Office Management.
This new responsibility on the shoulders of CCYM is a feather in its cap. Specially in present scenario where, less regulated area of the education sector i.e. vocational training seems to have lost its importance. This has led to the wide gap between the supply and demand of skilled manpower across various industries. This shortage of skills has translated directly into unemployment among an increasing number of graduates who pass out every year and are forced to be re-trained in order to become marketable. CCYM thus, through its Anil Asrani Vocational College, will attain the twin objective of bringing meaningful change in the lives of about 100 children every year on one hand and on the other will be able to supply that many number of skilled workers to the industry.
